What Prime Polymers is

Prime Polymers Marketplace is a business-to-business marketplace for buying and selling polymer and recycled plastic. Sellers list prime, near-prime, off-spec, regrind, regranulate, recycled and scrap material — PVC, HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, PP, PET, PS, ABS and nylon among them — with the grade, condition, tonnage, price, incoterm and location shown on every listing. Buyers who cannot find what they need post a Wanted requirement and let sellers come to them.

Browsing the board and listing material are free. There is no commission on any transaction. A membership at £13.99/mo unlocks direct messaging between counterparties.

Why it exists

Surplus and recycled polymer still moves through messaging groups, mailing lists and a broker’s contact book. That means the same tonnes get offered to the same twenty people, and material that could be reprocessed sits in a yard, gets discounted, or is disposed of — not because there was no buyer, but because the seller had no efficient way to reach one.

This is a distribution problem rather than a supply problem, and it is the one the platform is built to fix. Put a lot in front of everyone looking for that grade, state the specification honestly, and let the two sides talk.

Who operates it

Prime Polymers Marketplace is operated by ARC Polymers Ltd, a polymer trading company registered in England and Wales. Trading polymer is the day job; the marketplace grew out of it. That matters mainly for one reason — the people specifying the listing fields have had to answer the same questions from the other side of a deal.

What we are not

Prime Polymers is an intermediary and matchmaking service. ARC Polymers Ltd is not a party to any sale, does not take title to material listed by other sellers, and gives no warranty on listed goods.

We do not verify, compute or benchmark prices. Every figure on a listing is exactly what the seller entered. We do not offer escrow and we do not handle payment between counterparties — buyers and sellers agree terms and settle directly, as they would on any other trade.
