What that means in practice
A ready-formulated compound rather than a resin, aimed at outdoor weatherable work — window lineals and fencing. Compound means the stabiliser and additive package is already in it, so you are buying a formulation, not a base polymer.
If K-values are not something you work with daily, our PVC grades and pricing guide explains what the number is measuring and how rigid, flexible, resin, compound and regrind differ.
What to check before buying Formolon APW
- This is a formulated compound, not a base resin, so you are buying someone's recipe — ask what is in the package.
- Weathering, fire performance and colour all come from the additive system. Get those declared rather than inferred from the PVC.
- Ask for a batch certificate of analysis and confirm the formulation has not changed between lots.
