What that means in practice
The broadest application list of any grade on this site — nineteen entries, from wall covering and gloves to dolls and conveyor belts. That breadth is the point of a general-purpose Ultra paste resin, but it also means the grade name alone tells you almost nothing about what a given lot was destined for.
If K-values are not something you work with daily, our PVC grades and pricing guide explains what they measure and how prime, off-spec, regrind and regranulate differ.
What to check before buying VESTOLIT B 7021 Ultra
- Paste resin is dispersed into plasticiser and fused, not extruded — so plastisol viscosity and how it behaves over time matter far more than the K-value alone. Ask for viscosity data, not just the grade name.
- Gelation and fusion behaviour decide whether it works on your line. Two grades at the same K-value can gel quite differently.
- For automotive, apparel or anything enclosed, ask about fogging and emissions — paste grades are specified against those and ordinary coating grades may not be.
- Check storage and age. Paste resin absorbs moisture and plastisol behaviour drifts, so a lot that has sat a long time is a different proposition from a fresh one.
