The single most useful question about a PP regrind lot is whether it is filled, and with what. Talc-filled bumper material, glass-filled technical scrap and unfilled crate regrind all get offered as "PP regrind", and they are worth quite different money to quite different buyers. Filler content changes the density, so a seller who cannot say what the loading is may not know what they are grinding.
After that: melt flow, on the lot rather than on the virgin grade it started life as. PP chain-scissions each time it is reprocessed and the MFR climbs, so a stream that has been round twice will run faster and thinner than the datasheet implies. Then colour, because mixed-colour regrind only ever goes into a dark part, and then the tolerance for polyethylene in the stream — closures, labels and liners put PE into a PP feed and a few per cent is enough to show up in the part.
Battery case and automotive streams carry their own questions about residues and paint, and those are worth asking directly of the seller.
Nothing is listed in this category at the moment. That changes daily — stock here is spot material, not a catalogue.
Post what you are looking for on the Wanted board and sellers come to you: grade, tonnage, where you want it delivered. It is free, and it is public, so a trader holding the material can find it without an account.
PP grades and pricing explained: homopolymer, copolymer, MFI and filled compounds — what the grades and the numbers mean, and what to check before you commit to a lot.
