HDPE splits by what it was made to do, and the two numbers that decide it are melt flow rate and density. A 0.3 MFI blow moulding grade for drums and jerrycans, a 20 MFI injection grade for closures and crates, and a bimodal film grade are not substitutes for one another at any price. Check which standard the figures were measured to as well: ISO and ASTM conditions differ, and producers quote both, sometimes across the same catalogue.
Pressure pipe material is a trade of its own. There the classification is the specification — PE80, PE100 or PE100-RC with an MRS figure attached — and colour is not cosmetic: black is water and general pressure duty, orange and yellow signal gas across most of Europe. A compound offered without its classification, or in the wrong colour for the application, will pass every mechanical check and still fail on site.
Below are the live HDPE lots on the board, prime through recycled. Every one states tonnage, MOQ, packaging, loading port and country, so freight can be priced before anyone picks up the phone.
